OLF Elementary offers more than just classroom time and educational opportunities. We provide great opportunities for self-expression, learning, and for fun!
Arts
Theater – During the spring, OLF students present a musical to families and friends. Every aspect of production – including costume design, set design, sound design, and lighting design – is handled by students. Performances have included OLF Sings, Willy Wonka Junior and Seussical Jr.

Halloween Carnival Performances – In the talent show, students perform before a live audience. Students dance, sing, or play an instrument during the talent show. Additionally, students are invited to design the carnival t-shirt using their artistic talents.

Academic
MathCounts Competition – A national program that provides students in the 6th grade the opportunity to compete in live, in-person contests against and alongside their peers. The competition is held locally in the spring.
Reading Fair – Each year, students in grades K-6th are invited to submit projects/storyboards based on their favorite fictional book. This competition is held annually in the fall.

Science Fair – Each spring, OLF Elementary participates in this event at the MS Coast Coliseum. Students build a science and engineering display as they compete against other area students for a chance to reach the state competition.
Other Events – OLF students participate in local academic events such as spelling bees, geography challenges, and LEGO leagues.
Community Service
Boy Scouts & Girls Scouts – OLF students are invited to join the local Boys Scouts and Girls Scouts.
