On Thursday, Catholics mark the Feast of the Assumption of Mary, commemorating the end of her earthly life and assumption into Heaven. The Catholic Church teaches that when Mary ended her eartly life, God assumed her, bod and soul into heaven. This is a holy day of obligations – Catholics are required to attend Mass.
