While we can’t quite celebrate Mardi Gras like we have in past years due to COVID-19 (the picture below was taken last year), we will do our best to celebrate in the spirit of the season. On Monday, we will have a free dress day where students can wear a Mardi Gras shirt and Mardi Gras colors.
We will miss our annual Gulf Coast Carnival Association parade through the halls of the school. The last time the Gulf Coast Carnival Association did not roll through the city of Biloxi was 1951 due to the Korean War. Since the 1951 absence, Gulf Coast Carnival had rolled in 69 straight years including a small parade in the year after Hurricane Katrina.
We, at Our Lady of Fatima Elementary, will do our best to continue the Mardi Gras celebration.
Laissez le bon temps rouler!
