For centuries, the Catholic Church has set aside the entire month of May to honor Mary, Mother of God.  Many parishes will have daily recitation of the Rosary during May.  Another long-standing tradition is to crown the statue of Mary during May –  known as May Crowning.  The crown is often made of flowers representing Mary’s beauty and virtue.

The May Crowning is an annual tradition at OLF Elementary.  We continued the tradition this year by hosting the May Crowning after the live stream student mass held earlier today.  Since our students could not attend the virtual mass, we asked students for photos to celebrate this annual event.

We invite you to sit back and enjoy this time honored tradition from the students at OLF Elementary.
