National Catholic Schools Week is an annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. Now entering its 47th anniversary year, Catholic Schools Week has traditionally been held the last week in January.
Our Lady of Fatima Elementary School will celebrate its 60th birthday on September 11th, 2021. In our 60 years, we have seen our graduates be very successful as they made the progression through junior high, high school, college, and beyond. Our alumni are making a difference every day and everywhere. Many of our alumni have been recognized for their outstanding careers and their work in the community. Our alumni are also active in volunteer work serving on school boards and participating in community service projects.
If you asked these men and women about their success in their careers or their success in raising a strong and vibrant family, many of them would thank their parents for sending them to a Catholic school. Catholic schools go above and beyond the academic requirements to guide a student’s intellectual, spiritual, physical and moral formation. The graduates of Our Lady of Fatima Elementary are a shining example of what Catholic schools provide.
This week we salute Catholic schools and all that they offer. We thank our parents and grandparents who value a Catholic education and make the effort to send their sons and daughters to our school. We salute our teachers and staff who come to work every day with a mission to educate and care for our students. We thank Father Henry and his staff at Our Lady of Fatima Parish for providing religious instruction to our students.
We salute Catholic schools and we salute the alumni and future alumni of Our Lady of Fatima Elementary.
