A large crowd of students, faculty, and families lined the hallways of the school, for the OLF Elementary Mardi Gras Parade. Special guests this year were 2018 King d’Iberville Keith A. Williams, Sr. of Gulfport and Queen Ixolib Katherine Camille “Kate” Rushton of New York along with members of their royal court. As the parade rolled through the hallways, beads and other assorted items were tossed to the spectators. “This is a great way to start the big Mardi Gras weekend,” said Cindy Hahn, Principal. “It is important that are students take part in an important tradition of our local community”.
